Wheels of Hope.... Sunday, October 15th

Looking for some way to cap off your season? Consider a fundraiser. Wheels of Hope is a local fundraiser to support the Canadian Cancer Society. Fundraisers are always inspiring and well managed. This one has short distances that are sure to suit all riders abilities. Thanks to Amici members (Dave D and Dave W) for bringing this opportunity to our members.

When: Sunday, Oct. 15 (Deadline to register Oct 7th)

Balls Falls Centre, 3292 Sixth Avenue, Lincoln, ON L0R 1S0

10:30 a.m.- 1:00 p.m.

What: Hop on your bike and join us! Choose 5K, 25K or 50K distances and help us raise funds in support of the Canadian Cancer Society's Wheel of Hope transportation program. All ages and fitness levels welcome. Rain or shine. See you there!

Registration Fees: $50 per rider / $25 children under 12 Registration fee includes commemorative t-shirt and lunch.

Cycling & Wine!

We cycle beautiful roads that tourists come to tour... but never do it like a tourist ourselves. Join Mary Blom & Kirby Bowes for a special Sunday Wine Tour. Amicis riding like tourists! We call this VINO-TOURING!

When: Sunday, Sept. 24th

Where: Start 333 Orchard Dr. Niagara-on-the-Lake

9:30 - Leave from 333 Orchard Drive
10:00 - 10:40 am Konzelmann Winery tasting (3 samples for $5)
Ride to Big Head on Hunter Road
11:00 - 11:40 Big Head tasting (4 samples for $10)
Ride to PondView
12 - 12:45 tasting (3 for $5) (or reserve samples - 3 for $10)
Ride back to Mary & Kirby's for mid afternoon lunch for home homemade soup & pulled pork. Please bring a potuck dish to share.

If you wish you can purchase a Discovery Pass $40 that is good for 8 pairing of food and wine for the weekends of the Grape & Wine Festival. Visit the website for info, or you can pay as you go.

APLV "Mountain Goat" Rides!

Whether you're experienced or a newbie to trail riding, come join Mark Zammit and Scott May on Sunday mornings at 8:30 am until the end of our riding season. You'll be introduced to a whole new riding experience on the trails surrounding Firemen's Park. We'll meet in the upper parking lot along with the "roadies" as always. Bring a mountain bike and a willingness to try something new! Hope to see you on Sunday.

Making the Most of our Time together - 8 am starts

May has come and gone. Where does the time go? But looking ahead to the summer, there is still plenty of cycling to be done, so let's make the most of it!

Remember that ride times change JUNE 1. This weekend you have to GET UP EARLY!

8:00 start for morning rides

6:00pm start remains in place for evening rides. Bring your lights out on the evening rides.
