When you are riding down Mountain Road this weekend, thank Amici Club member, Rick Hesp. What does Rick do when he is not riding? See below email from Rick to Board members:
Hello Amici Cycling Club!
While on club rides last Sunday and Tuesday, I noticed there was a lot of glass in the bike lane in the east bound lane of Mountain Road between Dorchester and St. Paul Avenue. I called and sent a text message to NF City Councillor, Victor Pietrangelo. Vic's wife, Anita, is a member of the Amici Cycling Club.
Earlier today, I called the Region and send a followup email requesting a street sweeper clean the bike lanes on Mountain Road.
By an email received at 12:40 today, Carolyn Ryall, the Director of the Transportation Services Division of Public Works at the Niagara Region confirmed that today, a street sweeper will clean the bike lanes (east and west bound) on Mountain Road between Portage and Taylor Roads.
As soon as we confirm the street sweeper has been to Mountain Road,
I recommend that Bev put a note on the Amici web page and the Amici FaceBook pages to thank:
Victor Pietrangelo Niagara Falls City Councillor,
Natasha Vuckovic, Executive Coordinator, Municipal Works, City of Niagara Falls
Carolyn Ryall, Director, Transportation Services Division, Public Works, Niagara Region
Eryn Airhardt, Dispatcher, Public Works, Niagara Region
for their quick action to my request to have a street sweeper clean the bike lanes on Mountain Road.
Happy cycling!
Rick Hesp
