It has been a tradition in the club on Canada Day to ride a distance, in km, equivalent to the number of years since Confederation. This is year 157. I would like to get an idea of who is interested in undertaking this Canada Day adventure on Monday July 1. Please comment below if you plan to join the event.
I will prepare 2 routes. One for the full distance of 157 km and one for half the distance of 78.5 for those who would like to participate on a smaller scale. I am anticipating that the Rec and possibly C riders would do the shorter distance while A, B and possibly some C riders would do the longer route. We will arrange the ride groups based on those who indicate their intent to join these rides.
Like the Solstice rides, the Canada Day rides will leave from and return to the Gale Centre parking lot in Niagara Falls.
Allyson Grady and Eva Klein will lead the shorter ride as a Rec Ride and will depart the Gale Centre Parking lot at 8:00 am. They will use their own route which will be posted on the website.
I (Bruce Tulloch) will lead the longer ride as a B ride which will depart the Gale Centre Parking Lot at 7:00 am. The longer route is posted on the website.
Check this website and the Remind app for for updates leading up to the ride.
