The APLVNCC is honoured to be able to support our club members with their passions in life and to support others who may not be able to get out and enjoy their bike as easily as we do. In this spirit, the Club has decided to sponsor a team of riders in a Stationary Bike Race to be held May 7th.
Who will join Joanne McKinley & Bev Wright? A few more riders are required to fill out our team.
Please reply by Wednesday April 26th if you are interested. We ask that riders match the Club’s donation to the fundraiser of $25/per rider and you are welcome to collect pledges on your own.

Shelley Gauthier, a native of Niagara Falls, was a practicing physiotherapist holding a degree in physical education, when a mountain-bike accident left her with severe head injuries. Shelley spent eight months in rehabilitation and, within a year of the accident, she was back on a bike. By 2007, Shelley was competing in 50 km races and, in 2009, she was the first female tricycle T1 rider on the international scene. In 2014, she won both the road race and the individual time trial at the Union Cycliste Internationale World Championships in Greenville, South Carolina. This continued to be a tremendous year for Shelley: she was twice named Ontario Cycling Association Road Female Athlete of the Year; she launched the Shelley Gautier ParaSport Foundation, to provide encouragement and opportunities for people with disabilities to be participate in sport; and she was the second Canadian to ever be nominated for the prestigious Laureus World Sportperson of the Year with a Disability Award. Shelley is a 12 time World Champion and won a Bronze at the Rio Olympics. Shelley Gauthier Foundation The Shelley Gauthier Foundation supports persons with disabilities through sport.
