On Wednesday May 21st 2014 at 7:00pm, The Park in the City Committee will host their 8th Annual Ride of Silence at the Niagara Falls History Museum. The Annual Ride of Silence Event encourages all residents to take part and ride in honour of severely injured and fallen cyclists. You don’t have to be a cyclist to participate.
The ride is a going to be a slow, procession style, approximately 10km ride, with all cyclists wearing helmets and following the rules of the road. The route will start at the Niagara Falls History Museum, located on Ferry Street and travel throughout central Niagara Falls. Estimated time to ride will be roughly 35 minutes. Cyclists will be asked to ride no faster than 15km to 20km maximum and there will be no talking. As this is an event to promote "sharing the road", there will be no road closures so riders must obey the rules of the road (single file, adhere to traffic stops). Helmets are mandatory.
This ride is free (i.e. there are no registration, sponsorship or pledge fees required). It is suggested that black armbands be worn in memory of those who have been killed; red armbands are worn for those injured while riding, kindly provide your own.
