It's an Amici first.
Tonights A-B club ride is going to be "hill repeats", I thought that we could change up the regular ride of 50-60 km on a Tuesday and try something a little more challenging.
We'll leave Fireman's and trundle our way west along Mountain to Taylor Rd.
From there it's quite straight forward. Drop down to the bottom of the hill and before Niagara College simply turn around and ride back to the top of Taylor.
First: it's not a race and everyone is encouraged to ride up Taylor at your own pace. Once at the top at approx 150m before the stop sign turn around and head back down to bottom of the hill.
We know that we will have some riders who climb faster than others the focus is to not ride in a group but rather on your own.
I recommend that you climb at least 5 times up to a maximum of 10 x's. The climb is 1.3 km at a gradient similar to some big mountains in Abruzzo . The difference in Abruzzo is the climb is 20km's.
So you do the math, 1.3km times as many times that you attempt, Each circuit is roughly 7 min. Ten climbs should be 70 mins. Great work out.
I hope you at least come out and challenge your abilities, you'll be a better cyclist afterwards.
Thanks, Gordon
