Through Pelham

We'll combine the Rec and Social groups fo a cooling ride along the upper Niagara River to the marina and back. Bring an extra water bottle to help you stay hydrated during the ride. When we get back to Firemens Park everyone is welcome to stay and take part in the "potluck tailgate" picnic in the Park! B.Y.O.B. of choice and a food item you can share with friends and sunscreen! Hope to see you on Sunday.

We've shortened our Canada Day rides due to the extreme heat and humidity forecast for the weekend! It will be a combined A&B group ride pausing frequently to replenish our water supplies and to take a break or two out of the sun. Make sure you bring (2) water bottles and hydration tablets of some kind to add to your water. We'll make up for these latest missed long rides later in the summer when the heat and humidity subsides.

Should work well with the wind WNW... into the wind out and with it at our back.  Only tricky bit is coming up the big Decew climb to 4 way stop at Louth.  Unclip quickly?

Four hill ride: 2 before coffee break - welland canal locks & decew the 2 after coffee break - queenston heights and then finish off with the St Paul climb. Coffee break in Jordan!!!

Fun! Three climbs, 66.5 k, Fireman's to Effingham and back.

Two days before the Summer Solstice Rides, I thought an easy cycle through Pelham and Welland would be a wise lead-up to the 162 km rides on the weekend. The wind is supposed to be NE so we would have it against us returning to Fireman's Park but the route back meanders as well....the route is negotiable.The break is around 50kms at Timmie's on Merritville and Hwy 20
