Brantford to Cambridge Fall Colours Gravel Ride

The long range forecast for Sunday, October 27th looks promising so we'll give Fall Colours gravel ride from Brantford to Cambridge along the Grand River another try.  The ride will follow the SC Johnson Trail from Brantford to Paris and then connect with the Cambridge to Paris Rail Trail on the east side of The Grand River to Cambridge.

Sunday, August 11th Gravel Ride

Come and join us this Sunday (August 11th) for a gravel ride.  The ride will be a clockwise loop around Wainfleet following gravel roads and hard pack rail trails.  The gravel/trail ride is 73 km, with 65% gravel (hard packed gravel rail trail and gravel roads) and the balance paved road.  Ideally, you should have a gravel road bike or a hybrid/mountain bike.  A tire width of 30 – 35 mm would be ideal.  Expect an average pace of 22 – 24 km/hr, plus or minus.

July 7th Gravel/Trail Ride from Lock 3

Clockwise loop, starting at Lock 3 (Welland Canal Museum), following trails/gravel paths around Thorold/St. Catharines.  Coffee stop at Balzacs in Port Dalhousie. 

The gravel/trail ride is 47 km, with just over 55% paved and the balance hard packed gravel.  Ideally, you should have a gravel road bike or a hybrid/mountain bike.  Minimum tire width should be 30 – 35 mm.  Expect an average pace of 20 – 22 km/hr, plus or minus.

2024 Solstice Ride - Groups A, B and C

Each of the A, B and C groups will ride the same route. Some or all of the groups may combine if agreed by the ride leaders and members present.

Refreshments available at Fenwick Avondale approx 40 km (slight detour), Dunnville Tim Hortons approx 75 km, West Street Port Colborne (Pie Guys) approx 109 km (slight detour left on Clarence St for Wendy's and 7-11) and Netherby Variety (Netherby Road and Montrose Road Intersection) approx 132 km

Caledon Trailway Gravel Ride

This Sunday (June 9th) I will be leading a gravel ride.  The ride will be an out-and-back on The Caledon Trailway. The Caledon Trailway follows an abandoned rail line north of Brampton.

Sunday, Nov. 5 Fall Colours Gravel Ride

The weather forecast for Sunday looks somewhat promising with sunny skies and seasonal fall temperatures.  Good time to get out for a Fall Colours Gravel Ride.  The ride will be an out-and-back on The Hamilton-Brantford Rail Trail, starting in Hamilton, riding to Brantford, stopping for lunch and then returning to Hamilton.  The gravel/trail ride is 67 km, with 90% hard packed gravel trail and the balance paved road.  Ideally, you should have a gravel road bike or a hybrid/mountain bike.  A tire width of 30 – 35 mm would be ideal but you can ride the trail with a ro
