On Tuesday July 31 as part of the evening A/B ride, Paul will be leading a Super Elite Advanced Pace Line Clinic (SEAPLC). Who should attend? (1) Everyone who is pretty good at riding a pace line, or think they are, or want to be; (2) Everyone who wants to be a doorman, or sit in the armchair, or understand what Paul calls “buffering”; (3) Everyone who wonders how Paul hangs on when he’s not as fit as anyone else on the ride. Who should not attend? If you don’t get why pace lines exist (i.e. if you are in “pace line denial”), or don’t like riding close to other riders, or can never figure out where the wind is coming from, or think you know everything already, please don’t come. But don’t worry- Paul will lead a Easy Going Fun Learn to Ride in a Group Clinic (EGFLRGC) if enough people ask. What will we be doing? Paul will lead a 50-km-ish ride and we will work on pace line skills at a strictly controlled pace (i.e. no faster than Paul likes to go.) In this never before offered and probably never to be repeated clinic, Paul will spill every secret he’s learned in 40+ years of riding. Be there! Firemen’s Park, 6 pm, July 31.
